Q: Your RatMat Pro line is made of 100% TPE—what's TPE?
A: TPE stands for Thermoplastic Elastomer. TPE is a man-made, eco-friendly material. It is nontoxic in manufacture, and is also recyclable and biodegradable.

Q: What does it mean that your mats are SGS certified?
A: SGS is a world-renowned independent testing and certification company that tests the quality, safety and performance of products against relevant health, safety and regulatory standards. All YogaRat mats are SGS tested and certified for eco-friendliness.

Q: Is the ink you use to print on your mats safe?
A: Yes, the printing ink used on all our mats is nontoxic.

Q: What are your RatMat made out of?
A: Our RatMat line is made from nontoxic PVC foam, without the use of toxic plasticizers. Most PVC mats are constructed with chemicals called pthalates that are toxic to the environment. PVC in its base form is fairly rigid; it is used to make plumbing pipes. The plasticizers, the chemicals used to make the PVC soft and pliable so it can be a yoga mat, are what can leech into the environment and cause damage. The plasticizers used for our mats are nontoxic. Please be aware that even nontoxic mats made of PVC may off-gas a bit when first unwrapped. This is normal and should subside very quickly.

Q: What's the difference between your Yoga Towel, Hot Yoga Towel and Diamond Grip Yoga Towel?
A: Our Hot Yoga Towels are made from a thicker-weave fabric than our Yoga Towels, so they're even more absorbent. Those who do yoga in the hot zone may appreciate this, as will anyone who prefers a thicker towel. Because our Hot Yoga Towel is made of thicker fabric, it's about twice the volume of our Yoga Towel when rolled or folded.

Our Diamond Grip Yoga Towel has innovative "raised diamond" microfiber material creates natural friction between your towel and mat, greatly reducing towel movement while also providing just the right amount of grip for your hands and feet.

Q: Where are your goods manufactured?
A: Please see our Product Info/Care page for detailed manufacturing information. We take a lot of care to make sure our factories treat their workers well, and we make several trips a year to visit them. We know the management of all our factories personally, and consider them our friends as well as business partners.
